Looking to build your filmmaking skills and get hands-on experience? And $300!!!!

Access is partnering with Media Arts Center San Diego on the Diamond District Paid Opportunity, a 6-week video production course for young adults ages 18–24.

Participants will learn how to conduct on-camera interviews, edit videos and create social media reels, while gaining practical skills for the creative workforce.

Participants who complete the course will receive a $300 stipend.

Tickets are still available for The Newport Beach Film Festival 's presentation of Jonás Cuarón's CAMPEÓN GABACHO on Monday October 19th at 7:30PM. This film is part of their Mexican Spotlight!

Synopsis: Liborio, an endearing and mischievous young migrant whose only talent is taking punches. He crosses the Rio Grande to escape a harsh reality in Mexico, looking for a better life in the United States, and settles in a Latino barrio in New York City. Through his fists, his love, and his words, he faces cultural walls and prejudices that threaten his hopes, and becomes a hero in an unknown land.

The San Diego Latino Film Festival is headed to Guadalajara! 🎬🇲🇽

Christina Rounds, Vice President of Media Arts Center San Diego, has been invited to serve as a juror at the 14th Gran Fiesta del Cine Mexicano this November.

Thank you to the Gran Fiesta del Cine Mexicano team for this opportunity. We’re excited to experience the films, meet the filmmakers, and deepen the connection between Guadalajara, Tijuana, and San Diego.

And yes, we hope to bring some of the films we discover back to San Diego for our audiences to enjoy at SDLFF. This is how stories travel and communities connect. ✨
