Dear TrashTalkers! Again, it has been a while. First of all, thanks to all who made it to "8 Songs for a Mad King" a couple years ago - we won awards as best show of Fringe Fest and best male performer!

In exactly two weeks, the OG creator of TrahTalkTheater Jason Ponce has another collab with pianist Brendan Nguyen. San Diego is getting a new experimental concert series called PROJECT [BLANK] (www.projectblanksd.org), and for the inaugural concert, Jason has a created a massive art installation that will render live visuals alongside Brendan's performance of Morton Feldman's "Triadic Memories".

Tickets and information available through our site: www.projectblanksd.org. (Limited and assigned seating.)

Thank you for all your support of our artistic endeavors!

Hi TrashTalkers! We know it has been a while, but our beloved TTT experience is coming to San Diego Fringe Fest next week alongside Bodhi Tree Productions. Come see a contemporary take on Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' "8 Songs for a Mad King" and bring your phones!

Delta and Bank of America and #45 would HATE our show... But we think you will LOVE it! Support The Public Theater and Bodhi Tree Concerts - SUPPORT THE ARTS! www.bodhitreeconcerts.org

EXISTENTIAL CHRISTMAS IN JULY!

Coming later this summer, TrashTalk Theater investigates the origins of your sadness with a special themed event you are not going to want to miss:

TrashTalk Theater presents: Children's Movies No Child Should Ever See (CMNCSES)

I'm currently looking for volunteers to help out with this event, which will take place in mid August. If you are interested in lending a hand please get in touch. Alternatively, please help me spread the word. Thanks!

Kara and Ray, two of TTT's loyal supporters, proving it is possible to be exposed to Sean Connery's chest hair for 2 hours and still remain adorable.

In order to stay fresh, TTT has screened films from a number of different categories. These include camp (Flash Gordon), crypto-mystical (Holy Mountain), classic art house (Metropolis), totally problematic in every way (Showgirls), ponderous masterpieces (Andrei Rublev), horror (Hellraiser), documentary (Children of the Stars), and others.

I like to think that this diversity in selection is one of the strengths of TrashTalk Theater, and one of the important difference between TTT and something like Mystery Science Theater 3k. Instead of seeking out only "bad" films, I try to choose films that are provocative in some interesting way, or have some kind of specific cultural resonance. In other words, films that are fun to TALK about as well as watch.

So, since TTT is by its own nature a social project, for the next screening I want to open up a poll on what theme you might like to see me work with. Here are a few themes that I think might be interesting:

- Children's movies no child should ever see (my favorite)
- Madness/genius
- The saddest movie in the world
- I have no idea what's going on here

Let me know if you like any of these, (or suggest your own) and I'll start working on the next event!

Rejoice and mark your calendars! TrashTalk Theater is serving up a cosmic double feature at the Victory Theater in San Diego on March 7.

This is going to be a FANTASTIC show: we'll begin with a screening of Children of the Stars, a documentary by local San Diego filmmaker Bill Perrine. His film tells the strange but true story of Unarius, a San Diego UFO contactee group who relive their past lives on other planets by making their own science fiction films.

Rounding out the double feature will be John Boorman's Zardoz, a hypnotic and bewildering post-apocalyptic parable that offers some curious insight into Sean Connery's career choices. If you haven't experienced this film yet, there is truly no better place than TrashTalk Theater for your sweet and tender first time.

Not enough awesome? Well, in a uniquely TrashTalk Theater take on the typical documentary Q&A, Bill Perrine himself will be logged on and interacting directly with the audience during the show!
