Last night, something happened at the TeeP*e that felt a little bit like magic. ❤️

At the end of Cars, Lightning McQueen and his friends pull into a classic drive-in movie theater… and we were watching it from our own drive-in screen, right here on Route 66. 🚗🎬🛣️

There was something about that moment that made us stop and think about just how far this place has come.

Not too long ago, this property was abandoned and overgrown. The TeeP*e had been quiet, forgotten, and nearly lost to time. But we believed there was still something special here—a piece of the Mother Road that deserved another chance.

So we brought it back to life.

And now, years later, families are once again pulling into this historic piece of Route 66, watching movies under the stars, sharing popcorn, laughing with their kids, and making memories.

Then Cars comes on the screen… a movie about Route 66, with a drive-in theater right in the story.

And we’re sitting here watching it at a drive-in theater on Route 66.

It’s moments like this that remind us why we love what we do. ❤️

Sometimes the best memories are the ones that come full circle.

From abandoned and overgrown… to lights, movies, families, and memories once again.

They’re coming our way! We are excited to be a stop on the 2026 Official Rat Rod Tour, Route 66 Invasion. Join us this coming Tuesday (Sept 8) starting at 6 pm. Watch the Rat Rods roll in, enjoy dinner with the drivers then settle in for American Grafitti under the Oklahoma sky!

And this Wednesday, we’re bringing all of it to the TeeP*e Drive-In with a special $10 Carload Night Tribute to Dolly Parton featuring Steel Magnolias.

Come laugh. Come cry. Come celebrate Dolly. And yes… come with your money!

We’ll have a donation box near the concession stand, and 100% of donations will go to Dolly’s Imagination Library, helping put the joy of books into the hands of children.
