Movies are FREE for FSU students with valid FSU ID during the semesters in which they are enrolled, $6 for general admission, and $3 for FSU Faculty/Staff, alumni, and Tallahassee Film Society members. Located in the heart of FSU’s campus as a satellite of Oglesby Union, the Askew Student Life Center houses a number of exciting and important student services. The Student Life Cinema is one of the nation’s leading campus movie programs, featuring movies selected by all-student committees: five to six nights a week of everything from the most recent blockbuster movies to documentaries, indies, and foreign films, to restored cinema classics to midnight movies. The Student Life Cinema is also one of the few theaters in the nation with the capacity to screen films in classic 35mm film, giving patrons a one of a kind experience hard to find in the modern cinema. Our box office, concessions, and The Grindhouse accept both cash and card, but we do not accept FSU Cash or FlexBucks.

“Who are we? Who do we want to be?”

Join the Askew Student Life Center (ASLC), in partnership with The Center for the Advancement of Human Rights, for a special screening of The Mauritanian (2021).

Based on Mohamedou Ould Slahi’s memoir “Guantánamo Diary,” The Mauritanian tells the powerful true story of a man held at Guantánamo Bay for 14 years without charge. Starring Tahar Rahim, Jodie Foster, and Benedict Cumberbatch, the film explores the pursuit of justice, the complexities of the legal system, and the importance of human rights.

Following the film, we are honored to welcome Judge Stuart Couch, whose real-life experiences inspired Benedict Cumberbatch’s character, for a discussion exploring the moral and legal questions behind the story.

I see you shiver with antici… pation! 💋

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is making its annual return to the Askew Student Life Center! Brad and Janet, a newlywed couple, pop a tire and get stranded on the road in the middle of a dark and stormy night. With nowhere else to turn, the couple stumbles into the manor of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The events that ensue can only be described as fabulous and jaw-dropping.

Even better, we celebrate the Rocky Horror Tradition with pre-show games and a live cast of actors from White Mouse Productions bringing the film to life in real time! We will also be having a NEW Sensory Friendly Screening, without the shadow cast or activities, for anyone who just wants to watch the movie! 🍿🎉
