“I have been wintering in Florida for the past several years, and it

is from this state that I got the atmospheric idea. I was impressed with the colorful scenes that greeted me at Miami, Palm Beach and Tampa. Visions of Italian gardens, Spanish patios, Persian shrines and French formal gardens flashed through my mind, and at once I directed my energies to carrying out these ideas.”

A peek behind the scenes! 🏗️🍿 One of the coolest perks of being a member is our tours! While the Duncan Auditorium authentically undergoes restoration to its original grandeur, Tampa Theatre Members have access to a FREE 60-minute hard hat tour through our active construction site to see the transformation in real time.

Since work is constantly progressing throughout the year, no two tours look the same, but one thing stayed consistent, everyone loves the Mezzanine. ♥️

In Hitchcock’s Spellbound, Ingrid Bergman plays a psychoanalyst helping an amnesiac Gregory Peck figure out if he actually murdered the guy whose identity he stole! 🕵️‍♂️🌀 Aside from direction by Alfred Hitchcock and star performances from Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck, the most notable thing about Spellbound is, of course, that Salvador Dalí is credited for art direction. His unique imagination was behind the surreal, timelessly surprising dream sequence that Bergman guides Peck through. Psychoanalysis was kind of a fad at the time, and Dalí’s shocking aesthetic sensibilities perfectly matched the public imagination’s idea of the process — it’s just a shame that his intended, nearly 20-minute long scene had to be cut down to just three minutes. 🎨🎬

Please join Tampa Theatre at the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg for this very special screening on Thursday, July 30 at 7:00 pm, including an introduction to the film by Dalí Curator & Senior Interpreter, Peter T**h. For more than two decades, T**h has been a leading interpreter of The Dalí’s collection and special exhibitions, developing exhibitions, training docents, writing audio tours and gallery texts, and teaching courses on topics like Dalí and Hollywood, Surrealism and Women, and Dalí’s Ghosts. 👁️🖼️🕰️

The Thursday, July 30 screening at 7:00pm is for Tampa Theatre members only, while a second screening on Friday, July 31 is open to members of The Dalí Museum (please contact the museum for details). Tampa Theatre members are also welcome to enjoy discounted offerings provided by the Museum after 5:00pm, including half-off admission to the galleries ($16) and half-off parking ($5).

We’re pointing our compass due east and taking our On the Road summer series to Bonnet Springs Park with Choose Your Own Adventure, a FREE outdoor screening that celebrates some of the most iconic adventure films of the 1980s.  🐍

Pre-film events – including photo ops and a costume contest – begin at 8PM, with the film starting at sunset. 🤠

Admission is FREE and open to the public, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

An acclaimed singer-songwriter, piano virtuoso, and multi-instrumentalist, A.J. Croce is bringing his celebrated Croce Plays Croce Tour to our stage! Prepare for an unforgettable evening of music that bridges generations and celebrates the enduring power of song.

Over the course of three and a half decades and eleven studio albums, A.J. has forged a remarkable career entirely on his own terms becoming known as an electrifying performer with more than twenty songs reaching Billboard’s Top 40 charts across multiple genres. Having shared the stage with musical icons including Ray Charles, B.B. Tampa Theatre and Live Nation Presents welcome comedian KevOnStage to the Theatre’s historic stage at 7:30pm Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026.

Ever since the loss of his big brother Jason in 2022, KevOnStage has struggled internally with grief. This show is his first attempt at explaining why GRIEF SUCKS.

Kevin Fredericks (aka KevOnStage) is an actor, stand-up comedian, entrepreneur, podcast developer/host, content creator, author, influencer, and filmmaker. As a prolific creator, his content has hundreds of millions of cumulative views across all platforms with strong engaged followings on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and more.

Art House Theater Day (AHTD) is back, and Tampa Theatre is honored to pull back the curtain on this annual celebration of everything independent film brings to our cultural landscape.

As the brilliant 2026 AHTD Ambassador, Boots Riley puts it:
“Art house cinemas are community spaces and we need to make sure they remain a cultural staple where people get to experience art and chop it up together... Isolation created by streaming is a part of what allows fascism to grow and the reason why shared spaces are good for humanity. Art House Theater Day is a party you don’t wanna miss. It’s a cinema party!”

Out of Print is a love letter to watching movies on film, in independent cinemas, with an audience (well, two out of three ain’t bad). The documentary features Los Angeles’ iconic New Beverly Cinema and London’s legendary Prince Charles Cinema as stand-ins for the thousands of extraordinary movie houses around the globe that keep cinema’s rich culture alive.
The film celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and includes interviews with figures like Kevin Smith, Edgar Wright, Rian Johnson, Stuart Gordon, Joe Dante, Tom Holland, Mark Romanek, John Landis, Lloyd Kaufman, Joe Carnahan, Fred Dekker, Richard Kelly, Seth Green, Patton Oswalt, and more — all reflecting on why movies, and the places we watch them, still matter. Once Upon a Time in a Cinema follows the travails of beleaguered movie theater owner Earl Clancy (Colin Morgan) as he faces a series of disasters, any one of which could sink him. Drawing from writer/director David Gleeson’s own experience growing up in a family of cinema owners (his father’s 78-year career is believed to be the longest in the cinema business in Ireland), Once Upon a Time in a Cinema is a heartfelt tribute to the theatrical experience, showing that cinemas are not just places to watch movies, but places where communities come together.
