Join Tampa Theatre and Film Tampa Bay for a An Evening with Chandler Riggs!
Best known for his eight-season portrayal of Carl Grimes on AMC’s The Walking Dead, Chandler Riggs is an award-winning actor and filmmaker. His recent and upcoming film credits include HACKED: A Double Entendre of Rage-Fueled Karma — which was shot right here in Tampa! — as well as Brother Save Us, opposite Deacon Phillippe, RWBY X Justice League as Superman, as well as Lionsgate’s Inherit the Viper with Josh Hartnett, Sony’s The Wronged Man, Universal’s Mercy, Only with Leslie Odom Jr., and ABC’s A Million Little Things.
Riggs has also expanded his career behind the camera, directing the independent short The Unicorn That Never Lies, and he is credited as a writer in the upcoming action-adventure feature film Rune.
The evening at Tampa Theatre will include a meet and greet with fans in the lobby from 6-7pm and a special preview screening of his newest project, Biohazard, a short live-action fan-film adaptation of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The film tells the story of Ethan Winters, who — while searching for his missing wife — finds himself trapped by a deadly, unstoppable family driven to violence under the influence of a mysterious infection. Riggs wrote, directed and starred in the project, which reunited him with Jason Douglas (The Walking Dead, Preacher, Dragon Ball), who portrays the patriarch of this twisted family, Jack Baker. The production was also incentivized by Film Tampa Bay to showcase Tampa Bay as a strong, supportive, and experienced home for film productions and also stars Mary Rachel Quinn (Outer Banks), Eugenie Bondurant (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It; The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2), Johnathan O’Neil (The Pitt), and newcomer Sam Coyles.
After the film, Film Tampa Bay’s Tyler Martinolich will host a conversation with Riggs onstage, with time for audience questions.
