It’s happening - building a new community cinema is already underway. Want to be a part of it, literally? Donate $500 or more and become a ‘brick builder:’ your name (or one of your choosing) will be inscribed on a brick in the theater’s new wall.

June 6th! Grab your gear and watch your back! Our next cinema pairs a touching coming-of-age 80s classic based on a story by Stephen King with the FINAL (or so we thought at the time) installment in the Jason Voorhees saga. Two films that touched a generation in different ways, and continue to live on with successive generations.

7:30p – Stand by Me
9:30p – Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

Whether you’re looking for a heartfelt cry or a heart-pounding jump scare, these movies have it all. Don’t go into the woods alone... unless you’re with us!

“Edward Po***ck opened The Po***ck Theater on Beekman Avenue opposite what is now Morse School, Oct. 7, 1915. In spire of a heavy rain, the theater was packed opening night for the local debut of “Bold Emmett.” The Strand showed the latest pictures with the top stars. It closed its doors in 1961, went through a series of occupants, including an unsuccessful community theater group called the Strand Players, and eventually reopened as a movie house.”

Originally known as The Po***ck Theater, the theater was renamed ‘The Strand’ in 1916, just one year after opening.

It became part of a larger trend where many theaters nationwide adopted the “Strand” name, inspired by London’s famous theater district. This rebranding shifted the focus toward a mix of live vaudeville acts and popular silent films, including those starring Charlie Chaplin.

A place for stories, shared experiences, and for our community.

Sleepy Hollow Cinema is more than just a screen—it’s a home for film lovers. But to make it a reality, we need to meet our capital goal by August 1st. We’ve officially crossed the $100k mark — halfway to our Phase 1 Goal. Help us build something that will last for generations.

Help us reach the finish line.

Update! In just one week, we are 40% of the way to our $200,000 goal. This isn’t just a number—it’s the key to the 1st floor of the Strand.

Since we launched the “Light the Lantern” campaign, the support from our community has been overwhelming. But to secure our permanent lease by August 1st, we need one final push.
