We now accept card payments. Tipton's Diana Theatre has been owned by the same family for 99 years. Jim Paikos' father, Nicholas, bought the Diana in 1926. Nicholas was a Greek immigrant coming to America at age 14, but the Diana was named for a Roman Goddess. A naming contest w

as implemented and a young boy won a $10 gold piece after his suggestion was selected. The Diana has seen four Paikos generations work her counters. The single-screen Diana is a throwback to gentler and warmer times. Movies are selected with families and Tipton area values in mind. The theatre includes a crying room, thought to be the only one in the state, possibly the nation, for parents of crying children to still watch the movie without bothering their seat mates. Twice a year, Christmas and Easter, the Paikos family gives back to the community by treating the children and families to a free movie. In a day of ever-rising costs, a movie in Tipton is more than reasonable. $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 2-11 yrs. It's possible to take a family to the Diana complete with popcorn and soft drinks for less than $40. This is a secret well known to surrounding area residents who may travel 30 miles for an evening of entertainment and sometimes, a little nostalgia.

A LITTLE INTERMISSION AT THE DIANA…

The Diana Theatre will be closed until September 25 while we take a short break from our regular movie schedule.

But don't worry, Tipton—the popcorn isn't gone for good! ❤️

We'll be back under the marquee beginning September 25, ready to welcome you through the doors for more movies, more popcorn, and more nights together at our hometown theatre.

Before he became the father of a nation, he was simply a young man trying to find his place in the world.

This weekend, the Diana Theatre brings history to the big screen with YOUNG WASHINGTON.

Set decades before the American Revolution, the film follows a young George Washington as a surveyor and soldier navigating the dangerous Ohio territory during the French and Indian War.

Long before the portraits, monuments and presidency came the experiences that would help shape the leader he would eventually become.
