Thank you to everyone who came out for auditions this week for “The Story of A HI-WAY INN Holiday” by Tom Akers.

We truly appreciate everyone who took the time to audition, volunteer, and step into the world of the HI-WAY INN with us. Whether you read for a role, signed up to help backstage, or simply came out to be part of the process, thank you for sharing your time, energy, and willingness to jump into something creative.

Community theatre only works when people are willing to show up, support each other, and help bring a story to life. This week reminded us how special that can be.

Now comes the difficult part—putting all the pieces together.

Keep an eye out for the cast list coming soon, along with more updates as the storm at the HI-WAY INN continues to build toward opening night on July 9, 10, and 11.

And once again… thank you for helping bring the HI-WAY INN to life.

Tonight is the final night of auditions!

Final night of auditions. There’s still room at the HI-WAY INN.

A great ensemble cast does more than fill the stage.

They create the feeling that something real is happening.
They bring the motel to life—travelers coming in from the storm, strangers meeting for the first time, people reacting, moving, laughing, arguing, celebrating.

They’re the reason the audience believes the world of the play.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, this is a great chance to jump in and be part of something fun, fast-moving, and full of energy.

And honestly… this looks like a group worth getting snowed in with.

If you enjoy building things, organizing, running sound or lights, working backstage, or just being part of a team—
there’s a place for you here.

Props.

These shows don’t happen without the people behind the scenes.

If being on stage isn’t your thing, still come out during audition nights. You can sign up, meet the team, and find where you fit.

🎭 Audition Tip #7: Don’t Get Lost in the Noise

The storm is loud now.
Wind, snow, headlights, people moving inside.

It’s easy to feel like everything is happening at once.

Auditions can feel the same way.

Nerves.
Other people in the room.
A lot going on in your head.

Don’t get lost in it.

Come back to something simple—
the person in front of you,
the moment you’re in,
the line you’re saying right now.

Clarity stands out.
Even in the middle of a storm.

Give the words a little space.

Sometimes what you don’t say right away
is just as important as what you do.
