Hey everyone! This coming week is actually a pretty rare thing in the middle of summer — we don't have any new wide releases opening. With The Odyssey just having released last week and Spider-Man: Brand New Day opening the week after next, no studio wanted to release a film caught between those two. So this week is a great opportunity to catch up on anything you've been meaning to see! Especially today $5 Tuesday!

And if The Odyssey is still on your list, please do yourself a favor and go. Some of our team got to see it last week, and there is simply no denying that it is Christopher Nolan doing Christopher Nolan things. Nationally it came out of the gate like a storm at the box office. You may have seen some negativity floating around online about certain choices he made, and we just want to offer a little friendly perspective. Social media platforms make their money when you interact with content — whether you love it, hate it, agree, or disagree doesn't matter to them. What matters is that you click, comment, or react. So a lot of what you see out there is specifically designed to either get you so excited or so worked up that you can't help but engage. If you have a source you genuinely trust for movie reviews, by all means take their thoughts into consideration. But the random clickbait trying to make you mad about a movie? Don't give it the time of day. Social media thrives on negativity, and that goes for just about anything you come across out there — not just movies. The vast majority of people who see The Odyssey are going to think it's a fantastic film, and we think you will too.

Our Summer Series continues tomorrow morning with The Secret Life of Pets, wrapping up this week's showing. Then next week we move on to Dog Man! Kids tickets are just $2.00 and there's a special deal on our Summer Combo — a great morning out for the whole family!

Hey everyone! Another solid week at the movies — thank you to everyone who came out! Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, and Young Washington continue to draw folks in, and Moana had a nice opening week as well. We appreciate each and every one of you who made the trip out to see us!

A quick reminder — today is $5 Ticket Tuesday, which makes it a perfect day to catch Jackass before it leaves us this week. Don't let it slip away!

Coming Thursday, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey opens up — his interpretation of Homer's ancient literary classic. If you're a Nolan fan or just a fan of big, ambitious storytelling on the big screen, this one is not to be missed.

Our Summer Series rolls on with Shrek 2 showing tomorrow morning — and next week we'll be featuring The Secret Life of Pets. At just $2.00 for kids plus a special deal on our Summer Combo, it's a fantastic way to spend a summer morning!

One thing we want to mention — we do still get quite a few phone calls asking about showtimes, and we even see folks driving by to check the signs out front. We love the dedication, but we want to make sure you always have the most accurate information! The showtimes on our exterior signs reflect that day only — any changes for the following day are updated before we close each night. For future showtimes, our website is always your best resource. We generally have the following week's showtimes posted by Monday evening, though occasionally some final decisions aren't locked in until Tuesday morning. Hey everyone! We hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and that you got to spend it with people you care about. Thank you so much to everyone who made us part of your holiday plans — it really does mean a lot to us!

Toy Story 5, Young Washington, and Minions & Monsters all had a great week, so thank you for coming out and supporting those! This week we're saying goodbye to The Mandalorian & Grogu and Scary Movie, so if either of those has been on your to-do list, $5 Ticket Tuesday is the perfect time to finally check them off before they're gone!

Opening Thursday we've got two very different but very exciting new titles — the live action remake of Moana and Evil Dead: Burn, the newest entry in the cult classic horror franchise. Hey Union! Well, nobody saw that coming — okay, everybody saw that coming — but Toy Story 5 absolutely took the top spot this weekend and it was great to see so many of you come out for it! Supergirl and Disclosure Day also got some well-deserved attention, so thank you to everyone who made it out this past weekend!

A couple of titles are wrapping up their runs this week — Breadwinner and Backrooms will both be leaving us, so if either of those has been on your list, this is your last chance. And don't forget, $5 Ticket Tuesday is a great opportunity to catch one of those before they're gone — or really any movie on the schedule!

Coming Wednesday, Minions & Monsters joins the lineup, and then Young Washington will have early showings starting Thursday — which feels like the perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend!

Toy Story had a fantastic Father's Day weekend and it was wonderful seeing so many dads and families come out to celebrate! One of my employees got a kick out of all the Dad joke t-shirts in the crowd — clearly our audience came prepared. 😄

This will be the last week to catch Pressure here at Great 8, so if you've been meaning to see it, $5 Ticket Tuesday is a perfect time to make that happen.

We don't normally have employee movie nights on Tuesdays, but today we had the privilege of catching an early screening of Young Washington, which doesn't hit theaters until 4th of July weekend. A big thank you to Angel Studios for giving us the chance to see it so far ahead of its release.

If you're into movies about America's history, you're going to appreciate this one. I'd venture that a lot of folks don't know much about our first president before his role in declaring independence from the British — this movie fills in that gap. It briefly touches on his childhood before settling into his early military years during the French and Indian War, the period leading up to his rise as a leader, giving you a real sense of who he was before he became the figure we all learned about in school.

William Franklyn-Miller takes on the role of Washington, and he's joined by some serious veteran talent — Ben Kingsley, Kelsey Grammer, and Mary-Louise Parker all turn in the kind of performances you'd expect from actors with their resumes.

We'd love for you to join us when Young Washington opens 4th of July weekend. It feels like exactly the kind of film worth celebrating the holiday with, and we hope you'll make it part of your weekend plans.

Our water is now back on. The city seems confident the water is fine, but out of an abundance of caution is getting it tested. We will continue to only sell bottled water and bottled soda until we get the all clear from the city as to the results of the test, which will likely be tomorrow afternoon. Restrooms are back in service.

Repair work continues on the water line that was broken adjacent to our property. We will continue to be open today as we were yesterday. We are continuing to offer Bottled Soda instead of Fountain Soda. The construction company involved provided Johnny on the spots which can be used by guests if needed as long as our restrooms are without water. We have put solutions in place to ensure our employees can continue to wash their hands as they normally would, and hand sanitizer is available to guests also if needed. We also reviewed our entire plan with the Franklin County Health department to ensure we weren't missing anything that had to be accounted for, and they have been great in ensuring we aren't missing anything.

We are told that the water supply should be restored sometime between this morning and this afternoon based on the information we have been given. Once water comes online we will ensure we comply with all direction given by the City of Union and the Franklin Country Health department regarding the state of the water supply. What we've been told so far is once water comes online it will be okay for use in the restroom, but that we may have to wait to get the all clear to bring our fountain soda and ice machines back online. Before we use any of our equipment online it will be fully flushed and sanitized including our filtration system as well.

We appreciate all our guests, and are doing everything we can to continue to provide access to movies during this time. For those who decide they would rather wait until after we've gotten past this we certainly appreciate that as well and look forward to seeing you the next time you come in.
