Oh my!!
Another strong storm system is expected late week with parts of Illinois seeing the cold side.
We would like to say that not everyone in the blue region will see wintry precipitation, but this is the very broad region we’re monitoring. As we get closer this will narrow down.
A strong storm system late week will bring high winds, heavy rain and possibly heavy wintry precipitation to Illinois.
The exact track is still unknown but a northern track would give NW IL a better snow opportunity with a southern track giving central Illinois a better snow chance.
Some limiting factors are air temps around freezing, warm surface temps and compacting of the snow.
Either way, heavy precipitation and wind is likely Friday and flooding may become a concern. Any travel plans on Friday should be revisited as at the minimum rain/winds will make it unpleasant and hazardous.
