Good afternoon! Long post alert! With the response that we received from our seniors' day, I'd like to address a few things. 1) We welcome any group that would like to host their group at the theater. All you have to do is call Russ at 812-257-1084. This group that is hosting "Gone with the Wind" next Tuesday at 2 pm wants me to post this inviting anyone 50 years and older to come join them (the original post said 55 years). They asked me to have a matinee at the theater because some of them didn't want to drive after dark. 2) Some have requested this to be in the evening or weekends. Two factors to consider: our posted regular hours of operation contract us with the studios to show new releases during prime time hours, which wouldn't allow for evening and weekend showings unless they are outside of those times. The second factor is having enough people commit to coming during a showing. 3) We are certainly open to scheduling classics on days and times we're not currently open (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturday mornings). If you notice, most of our free sponsored movies are shown at 10 am and 12 pm on Saturdays. 4) Finally, I'm suggesting that we could possibly do a classic showing on the first Monday of the month at 6 pm. The list of movies could be anything for which I can get the license to show. So, please give me your thoughts and suggestions for movies that you would come and support monthly. I could do $5 per ticket and could find a concession deal for these fans. I'd like to see a minimum of 25 people commit to coming to see classics on the big screen downstairs on the first Monday of the month. As I have always stated, this is our community's theater; I am open to accommodating movie fanatics as much as possible. Thank you, Russ
