The Midwest’s premiere hosting venue for American and foreign features, documentaries, classic and experimental cinema, and national and international artists presenting their work, the series represents a genuine cinematic alternative in the St. Additionally, the Webster University Fi

lm Series has become the location for many national tours of international cinema, often acting as the only such venue in Missouri. The Series hosts speakers and visiting artists who address the pertinent issues raised in films presented, and in an effort to further integrate film with education, the Film Series co-hosts workshops with artists and experts. Unless otherwise notes, admission is:
$8 for the general public,
$7 for seniors, Webster alumni, and students from other schools,
$6 for Webster University staff and faculty. Cash, card, or check. Discount admission passes available.

TONIGHT, tomorrow, and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. each night we're showing Oscar-nominated Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi's new film SILENT FRIEND, which stars Hong Kong's Tony Leung Chiu-wai (here making his first-ever appearance in a European production), France's Léa Seydoux, and a centuries-old gingko tree. Much as we love Tony, the tree is the real star.

TONIGHT is our free admission 25th anniversary screening of John Cameron Mitchell's HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, put on in collaboration with Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis! On Saturday, June 13 CAM is putting on the event "Behind this Mask: Celebrating Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore," which will feature Mitchell in person alongside beloved Webster University professor Elizabeth Hoover and others. (Visit camstl.org for more info.) The screening of Hedwig tonight is free admission for everyone and open to all. Showtime 7:30pm! Come pre-game Pride Month with us!

TONIGHT, tomorrow, and Sunday we're showing Sho Miyake's new film TWO SEASONS, TWO STRANGERS at 7:30pm each night! TSTS, with the gentle rhythms of a Hong Sangsoo feature, won the Golden Leopard at Locarno last year and was featured in Film at Lincoln Center's prestigious New Directors/New Films festival last month. It's a real discovery and quite a delight.

TONIGHT and THURSDAY (but not Wednesday) we're showing the newly-restored, underseen-in-America-in-the-first place 2004 Japanese film THE TASTE OF TEA at 7:30pm! From director Katsuhito Ishii, who also helmed Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl, and was behind the animated sequence in Kill Bill: Volume 1.
