🍦💕 Sweet Treats & Sweet Friendships! 💕🍦
Today, the West Bridgewater Council on Aging was filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of ice cream as our seniors welcomed Ms. Winters’ fourth-grade class for a very special Pen Pal Ice Cream Social!
Since September, these students and seniors have been exchanging letters, sharing stories, and building friendships one note at a time. Today, many of them met face-to-face for the very first time, and it was every bit as heartwarming as we hoped it would be.
The afternoon was filled with ice cream sundaes, fun photo props, thoughtful gift exchanges, and lots of conversation. It was wonderful to watch friendships that began on paper come to life in person. From the youngest participants to the oldest, everyone enjoyed getting to know one another and sharing a few sweet moments together.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing the genuine connections that have formed over the past several months. The smiles, laughter, and excitement throughout the room were a beautiful reminder that friendship has no age limit.
A special thank you to Ms. Winters and her wonderful fourth-grade class for participating in this meaningful program. We would also like to recognize our Outreach Coordinator, Francine Burns, and her assistant, Caroline Nelson, whose hard work, planning, and coordination helped make this special day possible.
Thank you as well to our seniors, staff, and volunteers for helping create such a memorable afternoon.
🍒 Friendship really is the cherry on top! 🍒
