From our family to all of you we have met in Winterset at the theatre, we will miss you! Many kind hearted, caring friends and employees over the last 19 yrs have created some wonderful memories that won't be forgotten. See you when we cross paths again!

For the past 18 years our family has brought Hollywood to Winterset. Two years ago we started to try and make the community aware that we needed to go digital to keep the first run movies coming. We needed to see if, first, the want was there to keep the Iowa open and second, improve attendance to pay for the thousands it would take to purchase the equipment. Walt Disney's Planes will most likely be our last 35mm film. It ends Oct. 2nd. We will try and bring some movies on Saturdays in the short term. Oct. 4th we will show Rio 2 (G) at 4:30pm and Draft Day (R) @ 7pm. Through concession sales and free will offering we will try to keep the doors open. Miles & Jan Derrick

The Iowa Theatre will have the Iowa Premiere of the Documentary Film: The Great American Wheat Harvest. Oct. 10, 11 & 12, 2014.Madison County Covered Bridge Festival will be going as well.
