Just Announced! | GRFS Presents: Apocalypse Now (1979 Roadshow Version)

American Zoetrope’s brand new restoration of the original 1979 film, which for the past 25 years has rarely been screened theatrically, is of the original “Roadshow” version, exactly as it appeared on first release. The Roadshow has no credits whatsoever; instead, ticket buyers will be given a collectible new reprint of the original 12-page souvenir booklet.

At the height of the Vietnam war, Captain Benjamin Willard is sent on a dangerous mission that, officially, "does not exist, nor will it ever exist." His goal is to locate - and eliminate - a mysterious Green Beret Colonel named Walter Kurtz, who has been leading his personal army on illegal guerrilla missions into enemy territory.|

Twins Annie and Hallie are strangers until happenstance unites them. The pr***en girls' divorced parents, Nick and Elizabeth are living on opposite sides of the Atlantic, each with one child. After meeting at camp, American Hallie and British-raised Annie engineer an identity swap, giving both the chance to spend time with the parent they've missed. If the scheme works, it might just make the family whole again.

Grand Rapids premiere of the new feature-film "F*cktoys" with live in-person Q&A featuring Annapurna Sriram! Presented by Grand Rapids Film Society!

Part-time s*x worker, full-time chaos magnet, AP is convinced that the universe has it out for her… and she might be right. Channeling the cinematic stylings of French New Wave, cross-pollinated with the rebellious vibe of 90s-era Gregg Araki, F*cktoys is rude, crude, unhinged, girlypop middle finger to filmic convention. It’s a surrealist and satirical odyssey with a cast to match that includes 13 Reasons Why’s Brandon Flynn, The Comeback’s Damian Young, and a knockout performance by Heated Rivarly’s François Arnaud. Sriram’s F*cktoys took home a Special Jury Award at both SXSW & Fantasia, a Grand Jury Award at NewFest, and earned the writer-director a 2026 Film Independent Spirit Award Nomination.

At a Roundtable event, you split up into groups of around 10 people, one of which is a moderator. The moderator is someone from the Film Society Board that will help facilitate conversation and take notes. In your group, you will all be offered equal opportunities to talk. It is a networking event as well as a support group. Your group will have around an hour and a half to meet your fellow group members, talk about issues you are having, ideas for the community, or just share a fun story or opinion on a movie. An opportunity to connect, learn, and share - for anyone in the local film community.
