What does the SHREK movies, PUSS in BOOTS, HOW to TRAIN YOUR DRAGON series, KUNG FU PANDA, MAGAGASCAR, and THE BAD GUYS have in common. They are all popular and very successful animated movies made by the DREAMWORKS Animation Studio. There latest film is the visually dazzling Filipino-mythology-inspired "FORGOTTEN ISLAND" rated PG which has been praised by film critics and by most of the people that have seen it. Unfortunately it hasn't been seen by many people thus far. It appears that the studio didn't make a successful advertising campaign to get the word out to the movie going public. It has been my experience this past week from people that have called the theatre or have personally ask me what's playing this week, that when I told them they said... I have never heard of that movie. It's a shame because later when it becomes available on streaming people will realize it's a good movie, and wonder why they hadn't seen it playing in theatres on the big screen.

The response to "COYOTE vs ACME" has been amazing. While I thought that the positive word of mouth would help build attendance for the 2nd week and keep it from dropping dramatically, it has in fact risen above all expectations. Nationally, the film dropped 55% the 2nd weekend, but our attendance rose by 56%. It appears that there are still many people in this area that are just learning about it and still want to see it. Therefore. we will be holding it over for a 3rd week staring Friday. Our next attraction, "The Odyssey" will now begin on Friday Sept. 18th.
