Cinema Salem is an independent three-screen movie theater in Salem, Mass. Prior to that, a succession of other cinemas occupied the same space. Many North Shore folks recall seeing movies here over the years -- from blockbusters to arthouse fare to cheapo dollar-a-ticket shows. The Wayans brothers are back! SCARY MOVIE will see the Wayans brothers returning as screenwriters and producers, marking their first collaboration since Scary Movie 2! It is the sixth installment of the franchise, but a spiritual sequel to the first two films. Happy 100th heavenly birthday to a true Hollywood legend.

Cinema Salem wants to pay tribute to one of the most iconic and recognizable actresses of all time. While we are unable to screen a lot of her films, Marilyn Monroe deserves to be acknowledged! Cheers!

Two screenings alert (read on for details)! This Wednesdays Classics pick is Alfred Hitchcock's REAR WINDOW. This June we're celebrating the films of Grace Kelly and you won't want to miss this masterpiece on the big screen. Professional photographer L.B. "Jeff" Jefferies breaks his leg while getting an action shot at an auto race. Confined to his New York apartment, he spends his time looking out of the rear window observing the neighbors. He begins to suspect that a man across the courtyard may have murdered his wife. June is looking to be quite Grace-full for our Wednesday Classics!

Grace Kelly, though having such a short film career, certainly made quite the impression before leaving Hollywood to become Princess of Monaco. Cinema Salem is very excited to be playing four of her fantastic films for you next month. We have two highly regarded Alfred Hitchcock films, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief, both of which we think are absolutely perfect for summer viewings. Also screening are The Country Girl, her Oscar-winning role, and High Society, the last film she made before heading off to France. Tickets are on sale now!
