This tiny home theater is much more than a glorified garage (despite its humble origins)! The sloped floor, ceiling, and angled walls focus sound and sight, creating a relaxing and immersive experience. Action films and concert films are especially impressive here, as the enormous subwoofers and front speakers can deliver tooth-rattling explosions, as well as crystal-clear articulation. (In truth, more can fit in the small screening room, but the viewing angles are less than ideal.) In addition to the 600+ films/concerts/TV shows in our physical library, the theater is capable of streaming from Apple TV+, YouTube, The Criterion Channel, and Amazon Prime. Excellent espresso and a fully stocked bar provide refreshments, and we make a mighty good bucket of popcorn!

Welcome to the Tract Home Theater

THT is a small but mighty home theater boasting excellent viewing with awe-inspiring sound!

THT 504 is the last and best home theater that our founder, Chris Monck, created and refined over the course of 10 years until his death in 2016. He designed the layout, laid cabling, and installed most of the equipment single-handedly (literally; he was partially paralyzed by a devastating stroke in 2002) with a lot of advice and assistance on optimization and room tuning from Damien Kutny of Overture Sound and Video, along with the excellent construction talents of McDaid Bros., which include the unique sloping floor, walls, and ceiling, and custom built-in cabinets and shelves.

Chris’ ashes, along with some personal artifacts (including a ticket for the original Tract Home Theater in Garland TX), are installed in the rack , occupying the only balcony seat in the theater.

Currently seating is limited to approximately 4-6 persons, depending on each audience member’s requirements of personal space. We plan to augment this with bar stools and beanbags, with a goal of 10 proper seats.
