Capri Theatre The Capri is a heritage listed, Art Deco cinema, run mostly by a network of generous volunteers.
(1467)

The Capri is an independent not-for-profit cinema run by a network of generous volunteers. Built in 1941, it is heritage listed and houses the Theatre Organ Society’s unique world class theatre pipe organ. The profit from every ticket you buy goes back in to the restoration of this iconic South Australian building and the WurliTzer organ. Why not come along for a bit of old world atmosphere and see the organ rise out of the stage and play in the evening session on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings, 15 minutes before the scheduled screening time.

A few snaps from our lovely 85th birthday celebrations. Thanks to all who attended, to our special guests, to David Bailey for his incomparable accompaniment of Nosferatu on the mighty WurliTzer and to our dedicated volunteers who keep this icon thriving.

The beautiful snaps are from Catherine Leo Photography.

There are still tickets available for the closing night of the Film Festival, which kicks off with a street party outside that includes drinks, canapes and a glitterati guest list, following by HELL HAS NO FIRE ESCAPE. In a world where the internet is slowly replacing faith, a lonely South African pastor, who guides similarly lost addicts, believes she’s found true love online with a man posing as ‘Jason Momoa’. But when financial disaster follows, the bedrock of her faith crumbles in this thoroughly modern musing on addiction and belief.
